Neumayer-Station III

Neumayer-Station III is a German research base in Antarctica that holds a powerful greenhouse.  Of importance to astrobotany is the harvest of salad greens, cucumbers, and radishes under the harsh conditions of the Antarctic.  The project is managed by German Aerospace and has potential applications for growing plants in equally hostile locations in space.
