This is Kai Rasmussen’s blog.  He is the webmaster for astrobotany.com, and UW molecular biology research undergrad.  These are updates about the process, if you are interested.

First off, shout-out Jonathan Lombardino, for encouraging astrobotany.com to create the /r/astrobotany subreddit on reddit.com.  I’ve had a lot of fun setting up the subreddit and creating flair and such.  It’s been good practicing my CSS.  Head on over there for discussion as that is now our de-facto forum.

Secondly, SpaceX CRS-13 was supposed to launch on December 4th, but launch was scrubbed due to Elon Musk being distracted by trying to put a roadster on the Falcon.  Just kidding, I don’t know if that’s the actual reason, but I’m hearing a December 12th launch now.  Payloads of interest to astrobotany are A. thaliana from the Gilroy Lab and barley seeds from Budweiser.

Thirdly, let’s grow plants in space.
