Summary

The Australian Space Agency (ASA) is the national space agency of Australia.  The ASA is relatively young compared to other major space agencies.  Due to its size and age, Australia has indicated through its ARC Centre of Excellence in Plants for Space that it is interested in leading the way in global astrobotany research.  This funding, administered by the University of Adelaide, constitutes $35M over a 7-year period to “create on-demand, zero-waste, high-efficiency plants, and plant products to address grand challenges in sustainability for space on Earth”.
